SilentNight Radio Editor's Review

SilentNight Radio is a multi-featured music player. It consists of an MP3 player, CD player and ripper, CD burner, MP3 tag editor, and online radio player.
The online radio player, CD player and mp3 player feature the basic functions of any average player, with a few flaws, though. Using them is a little bit difficult, as the playlists appear on mouse-over and than disappear, making it difficult to select or use.
At first look, the interface has a nice design. Unfortunately, the program is not that user friendly. In order to switch between the players you need to choose the selected player from the menu, as there are no shortcut buttons.

The online radio player didn't have 'play/pause' and 'stop' controls. The CD ripper appeared to be working properly, but I also encountered problems (see drawbacks/flaws section). The CD burner is almost unusable. It can only burn MP3 or WAV files, but you get no burning options such as speed, multi-session, etc. The only thing that worked fine was the MP3 tag editor.

Pluses: Lots of skins to choose from.

Drawbacks / flaws: The program is full of bugs. The 'Advanced Recording Settings' didn't work at all, so no recording whatsoever. After selecting a radio station in the category, all the other stations disappeared from the list.

When ripping CDs, you don't get to see the ripping speed. In addition, the program stopped responding when I tried to abort a CD ripping task.

In conclusion: You should try Winamp before downloading this program.
